Who we are:

Inaxes (“Inaxes”, “we”, “us”, “our”) sells dash cameras and car-audio equipment in India, and operates related websites and forms including (inaxes.in), (collectively, the “Sites”), along with apps/firmware and service portals (the “Services”).

This Policy explains what we collect, why, how we use/share it, and the choices you have. It is designed to comply with applicable Indian law (IT Act 2000 and SPDI Rules 2011) and prepare for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP). Where rules under DPDP are notified, we will update this Policy accordingly.

1) Data we collect

  • Identity & contact: name, email, phone, postal address.
  •  
  • Purchase & warranty: product model/SKU, serial/IMEI, invoice, dealer name/code, purchase date, registration ID.
  •  
  • Dealer/installer details: store name, location, GSTIN, contact.
  •  
  • Device & app data (dashcam and head units): firmware version, settings, diagnostic logs, crash/impact events, date/time stamps; video/audio and metadata (incl. GPS if enabled); Wi-Fi/Bluetooth pairing info; mobile device type/OS for companion apps. A similar scope is common for leading dashcam makers’ app policies.

  • Usage, cookies & analytics: pages viewed, clicks, referrers, cookies/SDK identifiers, approximate location.

  • Support interactions: call recordings, chat/email threads, RMA records.
  • Marketing preferences: opt-ins, unsubscribes, and communication history.

2) Why we collect it (purposes)

Warranty & product support (ownership validation, repairs, replacements, recalls).

 

Dealer verification & anti-counterfeit/unauthorised-seller checks (flagging suspicious serials, mapping sales regions).

 

Safety & product improvement (bug fixes, firmware updates, ADAS quality, crash-event analysis, app performance).

 

Leading brands disclose similar safety/quality uses for dashcam/app data.

 

Customer analytics (demand by city/vehicle segment), service quality, and legal compliance (tax, accounting, law-enforcement requests).

 

Marketing (with consent/opt-out): product updates, offers, feedback surveys.

3) Legal basis/consent

  • We rely on consent (e.g., form submissions, app permissions), contract necessity (warranty, services), and legitimate uses under DPDP once rules are notified (e.g., voluntary disclosure, compliance with law).

  • Until DPDP is fully operational, SPDI Rules apply, including grievance handling timelines.

4) Your choices & rights

Access/Correction/Erasure: request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data (subject to legal/contractual limits).

 

Withdraw consent / Opt-out marketing: use unsubscribe links or contact us.

 

Grievance: write to our Grievance Officer (see 13). Under SPDI Rules, grievances are addressed within one month.

5) Cookies & tracking

We use necessary cookies for login, warranty forms, cart/checkout, and optional analytics cookies. You can control non-essential cookies via our banner/preferences.

6) Sharing your data

We do not sell personal data. We share only with:

 

  • Authorised dealers & service partners (warranty validation, part availability).

  •  

  • Logistics, payment & IT providers (delivery, payments, hosting, analytics).

  •  

  • Affiliates/brands operated by us (e.g., Infinity, Harman Kardon, and automotive distribution in India) for support and cross-program benefits.

Regulators/law enforcement where required by law or to protect safety/rights. This mirrors typical disclosures by peers (dealer/service networks, IT vendors).

7) Retention

We retain:

  • Warranty & dealer records: warranty term + 1 year for legal/accounting.

  • Crash/incident logs & diagnostic data: shortest time needed for support/improvement, then anonymised.

Video/audio on dashcam: stored on your device by default; we access only if you share or enable cloud/ backups. Retention follows purpose limitation principles in SPDI Rules and DPDP guidance.

8) Children’s data

Our Sites/Products target adults for vehicle use. We do not knowingly process children’s personal data.

9) Data security

We use measures such as encryption, pseudonymisation, access controls, backups, and vendor due diligence.

10) Third-party links & apps

Our Sites may link to third-party apps (e.g., map/music services in head units). Their privacy terms apply, please review them carefully. 

11) Dashcam responsibility & lawful use

Dashcams capture public spaces and bystanders. You are responsible for lawful use, including where and how you mount/use the camera, audio recording, and sharing footage. Leading brands publish “agreement to use” terms reminding users of legal compliance.

Terms of Use

1) Acceptance

By accessing our Sites or using our Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Sites/Services.

2) Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a contract. You’re responsible for safeguarding account credentials and for all activities under your account.

 

 

3) Product information & availability

We strive for accurate specifications, pricing, images, and compatibility guidance, but errors may occur; availability may vary by region / dealer. We may modify or discontinue products / features without notice.

 

 

4) Orders, payments, shipping & returns

If e-commerce is enabled:

  • Orders are offers to purchase; we may accept/decline at our discretion.

  • Payments are processed by third-party gateways; their terms apply.

  • Shipping timelines are estimates.

Returns/replacements/warranty follow our posted policies and India’s Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 disclosures (returns/refunds, warranty, customer care, grievance).

5) Warranty & product registration

Warranty terms are provided with each product. Registration may be required for extended coverage or to validate an authorised-dealer purchase. 

 

 

6) Anti-counterfeit & unauthorised sellers

We may reject warranty claims or benefits from unauthorised channels and may flag suspicious serial numbers or invoices to protect customers and dealers.

 

 

7) Software, firmware & app licences

Firmware, head-unit software, mobile apps, and any cloud features are licensed, not sold, and may include third-party software and services. Use must comply with the applicable EULAs and third-party terms; some features may be limited while driving or vary by app provider (e.g., WebLink/CarPlay/Android Auto content).

8) User content & acceptable use

If you post reviews, footage, or comments, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and display them. Do not upload illegal, infringing, or harmful content; do not attempt to disrupt the Sites/Services or bypass security.

9) Dashcam usage & compliance

You are responsible for complying with applicable traffic/recording laws (mounting, audio capture, privacy of third parties). We may provide features like ADAS or impact detection; these are driver-assist only and not a substitute for safe driving.

10) Intellectual property

All content on the Sites (marks, logos, photos, manuals, firmware, text) is owned by Inaxes or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works except as permitted by law.

11) Third-party services & links

Third-party services accessible via our products (music, maps, cloud storage) are provided by their respective owners. We’re not responsible for their content, availability, or policies. 

12) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inaxes is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data (including dashcam footage stored on your own device), or loss of profits/revenue arising from the use or inability to use the Sites/Services/Products.

13) Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inaxes, its affiliates, directors, employees, dealers, and partners from claims arising from your misuse of the Sites/Services/Products or violation of these Terms.

14) Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

15) Changes

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Continued use indicates acceptance of the changes.
